Retail Food Manager

Apex are currently looking to recruit a Retail Food Manager for a food outlet based in Southend in Essex

Suitable applicants must have previous retail and management experience and hold the relevant food hygiene certificates. Candidates must have the ability to maximise sales and profitability of the outlet through effective management.

Responsibilities of the role will involve the following:
•To achieve and exceed sales targets.
•Staff training in store
•Manage Stock requirements within the outlet
•Recruiting and Inducting new employees
•Managing and identifying training needs of all members of staff.
•Ensuring that all employees hold a valid Food Hygiene certificate.
•Managing wage costs in line with budgeted costs sales ratios.
•Ensure that all cash handling procedures comply with the Company standard operational disciplines.
•Ensure that the receipt of goods, checking of deliveries and processing of delivery notes is in accordance with the laid down procedures.
•Carrying out stock takes as instructed.

Stock:
•Ensure that all goods are received, stored and prepared in accordance with the laid down HACCP procedures.
•Ensure that temperature checks are carried out and recorded as a matter of routine in accordance with Company policy.
•Manage and plan the production of “bake off” goods in order to maximise sales and availability whilst minimising waste.
•Ensure that stock is rotated correctly, using oldest stock first to minimise wastage.
•Monitor the stock date coded-best before use by dates and take appropriate action to minimise wastage.
•Ensure that product presentation/merchandising standards are maintained in accordance with Company guidelines.
•Ensure that promotion are set up in accordance with Company guidelines.
