Job Description
Apex are currently looking to recruit an experienced Stock Operations Manager for their client a 3PL provider looking after a multinational Blue chip logistics and warehouse contract for their site based in Charlton SE London. Primary Purpose of the Role To lead warehouse stock management and clerical teams, developing and deploying key operating practices including corrective action processes and procedures, providing the best customer service available. This role will involve working predominantly on day shift however due to the current operation being 24/7 suitable applicants must be available to work over a 3 shift system as and when required. Key Accountabilities · Ensure all stock is managed within the tolerances of the contract in terms of stock loss / gain, damages and claims · To ensure the DC’s Inventory is as accurate as possible and stock integrity is maintained. Dealing appropriately with damaged stock, over-availability and other problem stock. · To ensure effective layout of the stock within the DC in line with store friendly requirements and to deploy processes to ensure the prompt resolution of any stock issues · To lead the stock and operational clerical teams using First Choice methodology and behaviours to ensure quality and consistency across all shifts regarding working practices and · Ensure Warehouse Management system support to the operation, as and when required. · Help to provide an environment to ensure a high quality and cost effective service to our internal and external customers. · Provide timely and accurate management information to the Operations Manager and senior team in a pro-active and effective manner
Knowledge / Skills/ Experience Required Managing a 1.7m commercial budget suitable candidates will be expected to deliver within the agreed budget expectations, ensuring the stock accuracy and liability is maintained within the contract tolerance. You will be responsible for the management of the stockholding in line with the service levels of the customer, management of the new and discounted lines in conjunction with the depot layout, maintaining the level of stores and suppliers claims are within the agreed tolerance. Management of the number of complaints from stores measured as a success of the depots performance. Suitable candiates must be educated to a good level with minimum of 2 years experience within a Stock Management & Logistics role, with good working knowledge of store operations and excellent knowledge of a 3PL Customers business. Must be an excellent communicator with good working knowledge of warehouse systems excellent interpersonal and influencing skills coupled with the ability to people manage a team of up to 42 staff including a manager, stock controllers and 35 warehouse clerks. Must also be able to build strong working relationships with the GM and OM on site.
