Job Description
Apex are currently looking to recruit a Health & Safety Site Manager for their client based In Paddock Wood in Kent for a fixed term contract of 2-3 months. This position is to provide support to the management team by ensuring that effective safety management systems are in place, in line with our clients Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Policy and meet legal requirements.
Responsibilities within the role will be as follows: -
Responsible for monitoring an annual H&S budget -The post holder will liase with all levels of people on site. They will need to develop particularly close relationships with line managers on site, with the other H&S Managers and with the Centre H&S department. -The post holder will need to develop effective relationships with contractors -The post holder may need to travel to satellite sites and to Centre.
- KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Plan and support the roll out of the Health, Safety and the Environment strategy, ensuring that Health Safety and Environment practice on site is compliant with statutory and company policy and that Health and Safety spend locally is within budget.
- Provide accurate, timely, legally correct and business savvy assistance, advice and information to line managers on site in all aspects of the Health, Safety and the Environment.
- Support the company philosophy on Health, Safety and Environment by providing managers with appropriate tools and techniques. Identify Health and Safety and Environment learning needs for the site and provide cost-effective solutions to meet these needs, through liaison with the T&D Manager.Identify Health and Safety and Environment learning needs for the site and provide cost-effective solutions to meet these needs, through liaison with the T&D Manager.
- Develop and maintain effective Health and Safety and the Environment admin/information systems, in order to ensure effective monitoring and intervention where appropriate. Evaluate Health, Safety and Environment success on site and recommend improvements to policies /procedures, taking part in company wide improvement projects where required.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a Health, Safety and Environment role, ideally in an FMCG organisation.
- General knowledge of all aspects of Health, Safety and the Environment with a good level of expertise in handling audit form external and internal. Good knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment legislation.
- Will have NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
